Superman Star Rachel Brosnahan Announces Support for 3 PH NGOs
The actress behind Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie spotlights local heroes in the Philippines, reminding fans that real-life kindness is the greatest superpower
Rachel Brosnahan is going beyond her role as Lois Lane and setting an inspiring example for families and children. On June 23, the actress announced via her Instagram Stories that she will donate to three organizations in the Philippines focused on volunteerism, animal welfare, and child advocacy.
The organizations—Angat Buhay, Pawssion Project, and Save the Children Philippines – represent a range of causes and communities.

Championing Local Superheroes
During her recent visit to Manila with co-star David Corenswet and director James Gunn for the Superman global tour, Brosnahan thanked the Philippines for the warm welcome and the moving stories they encountered.
“We loved getting to bring Superman to all of you, and David Corenswet and I loved reading about your local superheroes,” the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star shared, adding that she’d be spotlighting the organizations she’s supporting.
The Causes She’s Supporting
Angat Buhay is a non-government organization founded by former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo. It aims to mobilize the largest volunteer network in the country to empower Filipino communities through education, health, housing, and disaster relief. The group has become a key responder during typhoon season and public emergencies.
Pawssion Project is an animal welfare group based in Bacolod and Bulacan, devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned animals. The organization encourages adoption over buying and promotes responsible pet care, values that resonate deeply with many families.
Save the Children Philippines has been working in the country since 1981. Its programs span early childhood development, health, nutrition, education, and emergency response to ensure Filipino children are safe, nourished, and learning.
“Thank You for Noticing the Work We Do”
All three organizations expressed gratitude for the spotlight Brosnahan gave them.
“Thank you, Rachel, for amplifying our cause,” Angat Buhay posted on Facebook.

Pawssion Project shared photos of Krypto, the hero dog from Superman, and celebrated both Brosnahan and director James Gunn’s posts.
“ I was super thrilled to see when she (Rachel) made a story mentioning Pawssion Project. Even Superman director @jamesgunn also shared it as he is an advocate himself, wrote founder Malou Perez. “His pets are rescues, and his dog inspired the hero dog, Krypto, in Superman. We were among the most mentioned and recommended orgs people consider their local heroes, and even this moment was more than enough to uplift our spirits as we continue to struggle with the realities of animal welfare every day.”
“What a beautiful affirmation of this dream I continue to manifest every day. Thank you @superman team, for noticing the work we do!”

Save the Children echoed the sentiment with a message that captured the heart of the moment: “Lois and Superman have always made a great team – and we’re grateful to have you both on the side of the children.”
“Thank you to the new Lois Lane, @rachelbrosnahan, for showing that real-life kindness is just as powerful as any superpower.”

During their Manila stop, Brosnahan, Corenswet, Gunn, and producer Peter Safran met with Filipino fans and media. The Superman cast has since visited Rio de Janeiro and will continue their global tour across Europe and the United States.
Superman opens in Philippine cinemas on July 9.
