The Wicked For Good final trailer teases the powerful ending to Elphaba and Glinda’s journey

The final Wicked For Good trailer dropped on Wednesday, September 24 teasing a powerful ending to Elphaba and Glinda’s journey.

Setting the Stage

The trailer picks up where last year’s Wicked left off, with Elphaba on the run after defying the Wizard. Glinda (Ariana Grande), now under Madame Morrible’s mentorship, is rising in popularity — but not without inner conflict.

When a mysterious message appears in the sky, Glinda realizes Elphaba is still out there. Their reunion is full of emotional tension, as Glinda battles with the expectations placed on her and her lingering loyalty to her friend. The trailer hints at a dramatic showdown between wand and broom — a test of their friendship, beliefs, and identities.

What the Trailer Shows

We catch glimpses of a flying house descending into Oz — possibly marking Dorothy’s arrival — as Elphaba declares she’s off to see the Wizard.

Fans will recognize familiar moments from the beloved musical: Elphaba and Fiyero’s romantic connection, and the appearance of the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and Dorothy. In a nod to the original story, the Wizard sends them on a mission to retrieve Elphaba’s broom.

Meanwhile, Glinda looks on from her balcony, visibly worried. When Elphaba reappears, she urges Glinda to look past what others say — and remember who she truly is, and what she’s fighting for.

A Conclusion: Families Should Watch

Wicked For Good premieres this November, offering families more than just dazzling visuals and musical numbers. It’s a chance to open conversations about the importance of friendship, staying true to your values, and looking beyond appearances.

It also provides an accessible gateway for younger audiences to understand The Wizard of Oz, the timeless story many parents grew up with — including the 1939 film starring Judy Garland.

As the saying goes, looks can be deceiving — especially when someone is fighting for what they believe in.
