Angeline Quinto: The Birth of a Business and a Baby
Power Diva, actress, entrepreneur, and soon-to-be first-time mom, Angeline Quinto, is more than ready to balance motherhood and her new business.
Angeline Quinto is the depiction of radiance as she awaits the birth of her son. Despite entering the final stretch of her pregnancy, she excitedly poses for the camera—proudly showing off her baby bump in a sea of soft pinks and oranges.
Like any first-time mom, she has her checklist of things to prepare—one of which is her baby’s room in the townhouse they’ll be staying in. “Meron kaming pinapa-renovate na townhouse. So pina-consider ko talaga doon yung magiging room ni baby. Yun yung priority namin.”
(“We have a townhouse that is being renovated. So we really had in mind the baby’s room. That’s our priority.”)
She admits to feeling nervous sometimes, which is why she talks to her doctor often. In addition, it helps to have fellow moms in her bubble who have been guiding and supporting her. “Kailangan talaga yun,” she says. (“It’s really important.”)
Angeline Quinto on the Importance of Self-Care
Angeline also highlights the importance of practicing self-care in preparation for her baby physically, mentally, and emotionally. She’s become more conscious of what she eats and pushes herself to lightly exercise.
On top of this, she is more aware of her emotions. “Paiba iba eh. Yung bigla bigla akong nagagalit. Minsan naman, ang saya saya ko lang. Tapos minsan, parang bigla ka lang malulungkot. Ganun yung pregnancy sakin. Parang na-weirdohan yung mga kasama ko kasi bigla akong iiyak. Tapos hindi ko alam kung bakit. Pero ayun, tinatanggap ko yun sa sarili ko. Tapos parang iisipin ko lang bakit ko nararamdaman ko ito tapos move on na lang.”
(It differs. Sometimes, I suddenly get angry. And sometimes, I’m so happy. Then there are times that I get sad all of a sudden. That’s what pregnancy has been like for me. My friends find it weird that I would suddenly just cry. And I wouldn’t know the reason why I’m crying. But I just admit it and accept it. I reflect on why I’m feeling a certain way, then I just move on.”
Giving Birth to a New Business
With the recent birth of her business venture, Twinqle, Angeline Quinto feels blessed to have partners who are incredibly hands-on. Having to balance being a new mom and running a new business is the least of her concerns—all thanks to partners who she fondly calls her team of experts.
“Pinagpapasalamatan ko talaga kasi sila yung naging partners ko. Merong isang member doon na nanay na rin so lahat ng mga nararamdaman ko o mga suggestion ko, naiintindihan niya.“
(“I’m so thankful that they’re my partners. One of them is a mom so she understands how I feel and my suggestions.”)
Angeline adds that she’s excited to resume work in showbiz as soon as she gives birth. She jokes that if she gives birth today, she doesn’t mind already working tomorrow. Because of this, she prays for a normal and safe delivery. She looks forward to bringing her baby along when she starts her music tours again.
A Modern Family
Angeline’s current dynamic with her partner and the father of her baby is the epitome of modern parenting. She shares that her partner has resigned from his work to be able to take care of her once she gives birth. They live together in their townhouse and have been preparing everything that they need for their son.
“Marami na kaming plano sa magiging baby namin. Yung mga tao din na nandiyan para sa amin. Sila din yung tumutulong sa amin—yung mga kailangan namin after kong managanak. So malaking bagay din na may mga taong ganyan sa akin ngayon.“
(“We have so many plans for our baby. Our loved ones have been helping us so much—including getting what I still need after I give birth. It means a great deal to be surrounded by such people.”)
Lessons About Pregnancy
Angeline Quinto states three important lessons she has learned about pregnancy. “Una, be kind to yourself. Una yun talaga. Pangalawa, subukan nating mag-create ng support bubble kasi yun yung isa sa mga meron ako. Ang laking tulong talaga para sa akin. At pangatlo, lagi mong pakikinggan yung katawan mo. Listen to your body.”
(First, be kind to yourself. That’s the first and most important. Second, try to create a support bubble because that’s what I have and it has helped me so much. And lastly, always listen to your body.”
Moreover, she mentions what she hopes to learn after giving birth. “Sana matutunan kong maging mabuting nanay para sa anak ko at yung maibigay ko din yung mga kailangan niya. At sana ma-enjoy ko ang maging nanay since first time ko. Alam ko na baka prone ako na magkamali. Sana mabawasan yung kaba at takot! Sana mapaghandaan ko yung zero sleep. Rineready ko yung sarili ko na mapuyat lagi kasi siyempre parte yun sa pagiging nanay eh.”
(“I hope I learn to become a good mom to my child and to be able to give him everything he needs. I hope I enjoy being a mother since I’ll be a first-time mom and I might be prone to making mistakes. Hopefully, the nerves and fear lessen as well. Also, I’m preparing myself for sleepless nights because of course, that’s all part of motherhood.”)
