Dona Lim’s latest fashion collection — Unpaused: Dopamine Effect — sends a signal to all moms that it’s time to take back what was lost during the pandemic.
Dopamine, a well-known chemical in the brain that triggers excitement, perfectly describes Dona Lim‘s latest fashion collection, Unpaused. With vibrant colors and comfy, soft fabrics, her clothes let mompreneurs ooze with confidence and girl boss vibes. The collection became public on August 3, 2022 and will stay open for the entire month of August in Comme Çi at Power Plant Mall, Makati.
Empowerment Starts With Clothes
While everyone has their favorite pambahay and loungewear, returning to the workplace is a different runway. It’s time to dress to impress. But, do so with comfortable finesse! During the debut of Dona Lim’s Unpaused line, it was a feast for the mind. Each element — from the chocolates and wine from Tigre Y Olivia to the 2 hours of disco funk — was loaded with dopamine. DJ Margàchi (AKA Marga on the Mic) and one of Manila’s nightlife trendsetters hosted the event.
It was truly a festivity for many of Manila’s most stylish as they created many fabulous outfits with her signature maximalist pieces made from sustainable material. Being fashionable does not mean wearing skintight clothes. Moms are more aware of this rule than anyone: it’s not about the shape of the clothes. It’s about how one carries them and if they’re comfortable in them. Comfortable confidence is just as sexy and fabulous as skintight after all.
“Adapt and take control”
The pandemic robbed people’s control over many things. From finances, food, and even work, trying to get them back might be overwhelming. But fashion is the one place to start. As Dona Lim shares, “Awakened from a pandemic slumber, I am raging to experience new spaces, tastes, and sensations,” — while referring to her collection — “This collection celebrates resilience and grit through trying times.”
