Here Comes the Sun

As temperatures continue to rise in the Philippines, sunscreen isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity.

In the Philippines’ year-round tropical climate, sunscreen should be an essential part of moms’ skincare routines — along with their arsenal of serums, actives, and moisturizers.

Especially now that the summer months are peaking and the country becomes balmier than usual, suncare goes beyond being a luxury to a necessity in nurturing one’s skin health. Luxe Skin understands this need well, incorporating sun protection into its affordable range of beauty and wellness products. This includes the brand’s whitening Glowtion with SPF50; its Serum Foundation, Face Mist, and the L’Anna Oral Sunblock — all intended to protect you from the sun’s harmful rays.

Luxe Skin also recently launched Ecran De Luxe Sunscreen Gel, a sophisticated blend of science and luxury designed to provide superior skincare without breaking the bank. The gel consistency makes it refreshing for humid weather, while the scent is as mild as a baby’s scent.

Anna Magkawas, Luxe Skin’s CEO, wanted to deepen the brand’s commitment to suncare, understanding it to be an absolute need for Filipinas so they can move around the city and attend to their many obligations, while staying away from the sun’s harmful effects.

Collaboration With A Purpose

Amid the brand’s new product launch also comes the introduction of its ambassador, Marian Rivera
— the epitome of beauty, strength, and authenticity. Marian sets herself apart with her genuineness, truly believing in the products she endorses.

The blockbuster actress and mother of two believes in Anna’s mission to make skincare more accessible to women, especially for sun protection — she even applies the Ecran De Luxe on her kids, Zia and Sixto, showcasing nothing but authenticity.

While known for her porcelain skin, the actress shares that her sunscreen routine isn’t born out
of vanity; it’s for protecting herself from possible health issues.

May awareness tayo diyan na bukod sa sunburn, sa aging, at the same time skin cancer, direct to the sun, alam natin yan. So hindi lang dahil sa pagpapa- beauty, kailangan din natin alagaan yung health natin at parang necessity na yan kailangan talaga naka- sunblock ka,” she insists.

Moms can take a page out of Marian’s book and wear sunscreen every day because here are compelling reasons why taking care of your skin whether you’re under direct or indirect sunlight is so important:

Stronger Sun Means Increased UV Damage

With the recent hotter-than-usual temperatures, we may face an increase in UV intensity. This means that even if you spend a short time outdoors, even if not under direct sunlight, your skin becomes prone to a higher risk of damage.

UV rays come in two main forms: UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin, causing premature aging and wrinkles. UVB rays cause sunburns and can contribute to skin cancer.

Keep Your Skin Supple and Glowing

Filipinas are known for their beautiful, naturally radiant skin. Yet even melanin could not compete
with sun exposure. UV rays break down collagen which keeps skin elastic and youthful, leading to more defined wrinkles, fine lines, and uneven skin tone.

Suncare and skincare go hand-in-hand in preserving youthful beauty. By protecting your skin from UV damage, you’re preventing premature aging and maintaining that coveted healthy glow. After all, glowing skin is healthy skin.

It’s About Long-Term Health

What may seem like a harmless tan can turn into age spots, wrinkles, or even skin cancer later in life. Keeping your skin consistently protected from the sun is crucial to ensure your skin stays healthy not just now, but for years to come.

So, mama, keep that glow while staying shielded from the sun!
