Iced Drinks Kids Will Love While Cooling Down

Whether rain or summer, there are just some iced drinks kids will love to drink. Here are some we found.

Making iced drinks ourselves at home can sometimes be messy. Not only do we have to shave the ice but we also have to buy some of the ingredients like chocolate syrup, fruits, marshmallows, etc. And with the Philippines being hot or cold (though we know it’s mostly hot), here are some of the drinks we know kids would love while dealing with the volatile weather.

Seattle’s Best x Ghirardelli Chocolate Collection: Chocolate Milkshake

Premium chocolate shakes don’t get any better without Ghirardelli chocolate being mixed in. While other coffee shops have their own brands of chocolate, Seattle’s Best brings them in for a rich collab by featuring the classic, beloved by all kids, Chocolate Milk Shake. Made out of Ghirardelli chocolate, milk, and chocolate ice cream, the Chocolate Milkshake with its final topping of Ghirardelli chocolate powder and marshmallows is for kids who just love chocolate.

Or if our inner child feels a bit deprived and asks for some soothing, the Chocolate Milkshake will do the trick.

Serenitea’s Cookie Brulee Milk Tea

While they still serve the traditional mildly sweet Okinawa, the honey-flavored Nagasaki, and mellow fruity sweet Wintermelon milk tea, Serenitea crafted more daring creations such as the Cookie Brulee Milk Tea! Although the recipe debuted back in 2019, it became a large hit among many college students and earned itself a permanent spot on its menu.

Maybe for the older kids who don’t want to rich a chocolatey flavor, Seattle’s Best Iced Chocolate made with Ghirardelli is a lot smoother on the tongue and stomach. It also makes the older kids feel like they’re drinking coffee but don’t want the caffeine rush that usually accompanies having an iced coffee.

Tubó Cane Juice: Watermelon flavor

Originally advertised for diabetics because of its low glycemic index, the flavor of fresh tubó cane juice kind of does grow on them. When kids are so used to processed sugars, it’s hard to wean them off their need for strong and sharp sweet flavors. And if they start running out of juice then, they’re going to need something sweet. Tubó Cane Juice at least keeps the sugar to a manageable level and for the hot weather, we suggest Watermelon flavor.

It’s also good to start them young when the family has a history of diabetes.

SaladStop: Pink Panther

The number one struggle of many parents in getting their kids to eat vegetables is the presentation. With greens not usually appealing to their eyes, the kids usually just pick it out and starve themselves until something vibrant catches their eye. Luckily, SaladStop’s Pink Panther’s been a good hit among our kids with its bright pink color and its mixture of banana, strawberry, chia seeds, greek yogurt, honey, and coconut water keeps the kids hydrated.

Manila Creamery Gelato Shakes: Malted Vanilla

Proudly claiming #madethemanila way, Manila Creamery offers smooth and creamy milkshakes made out of their local gelato flavors. While they have both classic and premium flavors, the best-iced drink we’ve found our kids to like so far is the Malted Vanilla. The soft sweetness with the milky texture of the gelato shake makes it a favorite treat to cool down.

In spite of the rain, we need to cool down with an iced drink.

The Philippines, with its humid climate, always has looking for ways to cool down. We may have aircons in our rooms, cold showers, etc. but nothing compares to cooling down with a drink. And for our kids who are constantly somehow not aware that they’re running out of water, some of these iced drinks will make sure they stay hydrated. The best part is, we can order these cool drinks off our usual food delivery apps since they’re usually in the mall.
