Jennica Garcia’s daughters, Mori and Alessi, had a heartwarming interaction that proves kids do remember.

A lot of times, we believe our kids don’t remember what we say. They seem to repeat the same misbehavior before realizing it’s not a good idea. But our children do remember! Celebrity single mom Jennica Garcia captured it with her daughters when Alessi recalled exactly what her mom told her before about taking photos with a film camera. “It’s my only way of freezing time,” Jennica recalled what she explained to Alessi.

The little girl then echoed the same words to her older sister, Mori. “Ate Mori, please, I’m freezing time. I like seeing you happy and you’re so beautiful.”

Birthday core memory unlocked!

Our kids’ birthdays will always be a core memory for the whole family. And we love capturing it with little mementos via photos. With the latest technology, we often just upload it onto the computer to preserve it. But creating polaroids or producing prints with film strikes a heartwarming feeling in us. Using the old technology sends us on a nostalgic trip when we remember our own parents using that technology to “freeze time.”

As the family of three celebrated Mori’s 8th birthday, Jennica Garcia saw how much of an effect her behavior had on her daughters. While waiting for their Grab, Alessi took her toy camera and began taking all sorts of photos of Mori. Although the kids would remember the fun night of ice cream, the itinerary of activities, and, a delicious family dinner, Jennica would remember it more as a winning and heart-melting parenting moment of seeing Alessi treasuring their family the same way she does.

Kids remember a lot more than we think!

While they cannot recall exactly what we said, they remember more the actions and behaviors after. And as they grow older, their interpretation of those memories will change and become invaluable over time. With all the time that Jennica Garcia spent taking photos of her daughters to preserve the memories, they too caught on. Delighted, Jennica added towards the end of her Instagram post, “Thank you Lord for giving me the best gift in Mori and Alessi. They are such beautiful, kind, and sensitive souls.”
