King Charles To Seek Treatment As Kate Middleton Recovers from Surgery

Kensington Palace earlier announced that the Princess of Wales was admitted to the hospital for abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales is now recovering after undergoing an abdominal surgery announced earlier by Kensington Palace. King Charles is set to undergo a medical procedure for his prostate next week.

Both medical conditions were announced on Wednesday, January 17, UK time. Kate is expected to be in the hospital for a few more days and will not be doing royal duties until after Easter.

After the Princess of Wales’ condition was announced, Buckingham Palace announced that the King would seek medical treatment for prostate. The Palace said that the condition was benign but that he would undergo a “corrective procedure.”

With two senior royal members on medical leave, this means cutting back on some of their duties. Or better yet, other senior royals will take on the responsibility.

Prince William has cut some of his engagements to spend time with his wife and their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Buckingham Palace meanwhile said that the King is currently with his wife, Queen Camilla in Balmoral. The “Counsellors of State” can actually step in to do some of the duties but is not needed as of this time.

It’s unclear what will be the next steps while the King and the Princess of Wales are on leave.
