Modern Parenting Has Moms Spilling The Tea on Motherhood
Modern Parenting celebrates motherhood in the most honest way possible: by giving moms a space to laugh, vent, reflect, and share the beautifully chaotic realities of parenting over afternoon tea and heartfelt conversations.
Held at Yawaragi in Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts on May 26, 2026, Modern Parenting gathered moms for its annual “Spill The Tea” Mother’s Month event—a candid afternoon dedicated to all the highs, lows, and unforgettable moments that come with raising a family.
The conversations shared felt more like a collective exhale. Moms listened, laughed, and loved the topics as they found comfort in hearing experiences that mirrored their own.

Here’s the tea from the event
From the moment guests arrived, the event felt intentionally warm and inviting. Floral-inspired vignettes transformed the venue into a blooming escape where moms could take photos, create memories, and simply enjoy being celebrated. Guests explored the scent experience at the Tadhana Fragrances booth, while Pandora treated moms to a letter-writing activity, fresh floral bouquets and exclusive gift certificates.

While moms enjoyed Yawaragi’s afternoon spread, onstage an honest discussion on women’s wellness took place and moms in the audience were really writing down notes.

Facilitated by Modern Parenting’s editor-in-chief Marga Tupaz, the panel featured Eluvo Health’s Dr. Jaycy Olivarez, lawyer and Bilyonaryo News Channel host Atty. Karen Jimeno, and wellness advocate Kate Moynihan-Gonzalez. Together, they tackled the many simultaneous transitions women experience—from hormonal changes and mental load to balancing ambition, parenting, and selfhood.
And in true Modern Parenting fashion, the afternoon still made room for joy and playfulness. The much-awaited raffle became one of the event’s liveliest highlights, with 22 moms bringing home prizes from Casa Juan, Aivee, MORE Hair Center, Pandora, and Newport World Resorts.

Keep Calm and Have Tea
Whether enjoying a peaceful staycation or sharing Yawaragi’s beautifully prepared dishes, guests at Hotel Okura Manila were invited to slow down and find zen at their own pace. With its signature blend of Japanese elegance and quiet sophistication, the hotel offered moms something they rarely receive enough of: stillness.
Between warm tea, comforting food, and friends, Yawaragi became a much-needed sphere to help our guests properly process the nonstop demands of modern motherhood and the toll it takes on a woman’s body.
And perhaps that was the real beauty behind “spilling the tea.”

For moms, spilling the tea is rarely just gossip. It is catharsis. A deep exhale after constantly carrying everyone else’s needs before their own. In a world that expects mothers to always be composed, nurturing, productive, and endlessly available, simply sitting down to laugh, vent, overshare, and sip tea with other women who get it can feel incredibly healing.
Because sometimes, the best Mother’s Month celebration is not extravagant at all. Often times, this is it—being with their mom community!
