PH Celebrity Moms Born In The Year of The Tiger
These tiger moms have definitely blazed a trail for many of us.
Although the term “Tiger Mom” triggers mixed feelings, these celeb moms proved that being one is a good thing. They inspired us, mom and women, with their strength and assertiveness. Even when criticisms poured in, they stayed true as a Tiger mom to make sure their kids got the best. While celebrating the Year of Tiger, we also celebrate these celebrity Tiger moms for doing the best they can for their kids.
1. Luane Dy (@luziady)
TV Host and celebrity Fire Tiger mom Luane Dy didn’t let the loss of hosting gigs stop her. Less hosting gigs meant more time for her to be a mom to her son, Jose Christiano. While navigating through the many firsts of a parent, she, as a Tiger mom, knew what her non-negotiables were when it came to hosting gigs. Although being pickier meant fewer gigs, she saw no issue with that. With the extra time, she soon set up her brand, Bfeeding Mum, to help other moms feel fashionable during the pandemic.
2. Katrina Halili (@katrina_halili)
Another celebrity Fire Tiger-born mom, GMA actress Katrina Halili won a lot of awards as a drama actress. The StarStruck talent search alumna is also the first Filipina celebrity to have won FHM Philippines’ 100 Sexiest twice in a row. Currently, she’s playing a protagonist role in Prima Donnas as the surrogate mother of triplets Lenlen, Mayi, and Ellen, Lillian Madreal. If we were in her 10-year-old daughter, Katrence’s, position, we’d be very proud of her too.

Actress and Kada Umaga Host on Net25, Pia Guanio-Mago is a Wood Tiger Mom. As a mom to both Scarlet Janine and Soleil Brooklyn, she sometimes includes her kids when she does her hosting. Despite her whole house (family and help) testing positive for COVID-19, her latest IG posts and vlogs show that she helped her family deal with COVID-19 in the most positive way possible.
4. Sheryl Cruz (@officialsherylcruz)
Actress, singer, and celebrity Wood Tiger mom Sheryl Cruz still maintains her highly decorated record as an actress. Currently acting under GMA Network for the series Prima Donnas and Agimat ng Agila, Sheryl Cruz shows how being a Tiger mom means she can stand on her own and raise her daughter Ashley Nicole.
5. Ruffa Gutierez (@iloveruffag)
Model, beauty queen, actress, and TV Host, celebrity mom Ruffa Gutierrez was born in the Year of the Wooden Tiger. As a mom with many accolades, she also gets to add to her list of being a great mom to her two daughters: Lorin Gabriella and Venezia Loran. She also streams and talks on the KUMU where she gets to share all the stories that she gathered during the pandemic.

When they say a tiger needs to earn their stripes, we’d like to say that celebrity tiger moms earned theirs! Especially since the pandemic hit the entertainment industry hard, it’s amazing that these moms made something from almost virtually nothing. With fewer shows being filmed, some managed to change their avenue for entertainment. Others became mompreneurs and that’s something to salute these tiger moms for.
