The New Bluey Movie Finally Confirms A Release Date!
The family’s favorite blue dog, Bluey, has become such a sensation that she now has her own movie: the Bluey Movie!
What started out as a kids’ cartoon idea in Australia has now grown into a world sensation. Bluey has become a beloved character worldwide as each episode tackles various topics in life, but in the most kid-friendly way possible. From handling emotions to dealing with different kinds of people, and even issues like infertility and becoming an overwhelmed parent, Bluey and her family have helped families everywhere navigate their issues. Which is why—the Bluey movie has confirmed its release date: this coming August 6, 2027!
What do we know about the Bluey movie so far?
Besides the creator and producer of Bluey, Joe Brumm, being active in the movie’s production, he’s joined by other veterans in the kids’ movie industry. It’ll be an effort from Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios. The CG-animated feature is produced by Amber Naismith (“Happy Feet,” “The LEGO® Movie”) and the movie will be co-directed by Richard Jeffery (Bluey, Series 1–3).
It’ll also be under Disney. The film will be overseen by David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, and his team.
As for the cast, they’ll be sticking to some of the original voices like voice talents Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Mum (Chilli) and Dad (Bandit). The Bluey movie marks the big-screen debut of the beloved blue heeler and her family, bringing the Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning series to life like never before.

The series has often encouraged conversations—some that may feel awkward to start at the dinner table. In some way, Bluey has indirectly contributed to creating an environment where even the most taboo family topics can be safely talked about. Not just for kids but for parents too.
In the Philippines, Bluey is deeply loved. There was a pop-up event in the mall the last time, as if teasing the upcoming movie. They’ve already done LEGO sets, books, and music albums. What’s to stop them from making a movie?
