6 Reasons Why It’s Best To Use Powder Sunscreen
Tired of sunscreen leaving a glossy sheen? Matte it out with powder sunscreen instead.
While our kids are out swimming in the pool or playing with their pool toys in the garden, we need to make sure we don’t burn when we go out to stay with them. That’s usually the job of sunscreen lotion but not all of them are good for the face. Sometimes, we’ll end up breaking out right on top of our sunburns which can be a real pain to deal with. Here’s why it might be best for us to use powder sunscreen:
1. You won’t look so glossy
One of the key ingredients in lotion is oil and when you put oil on your face, you end up looking so glossy as if dad just polished his new mag wheels! Now, glossy looks good on metal but not on skin. We prefer having a softer and more skin-like appearance which is what powder sunscreen does best. Since the Belo SunExpert Translucent Loose Powder Sunscreen is a dry application, we won’t need to worry about reflecting the sunlight into people’s faces.
2. It works well with make-up
Even though we’re in the pandemic, it’s still okay to wear some makeup to keep a fresh appearance. But you can’t just slap make-up one on top of the other. The ingredients will mix and you’ll end up making some awkward tribal paint on your face and scare your kids. Keep the look simple by keeping all your makeup products as one type: either as powder or as liquid. Though, personally, we’d prefer the powder since we’re less prone to using too much.
3. If it gets into your nose or eyes by accident, it won’t burn.
Yes, we’ve all had this problem once wherein the sunscreen lotion burns our eyes or our noses when it seeps in. The burning sensation comes from the alcohol component found in most cream or liquid skin products, which is what powder doesn’t have. And even if it gets into our noses, we can just snort it out and all we have to deal with is sneezing for a few moments rather than trying to get rid of the burn inside our noses or our eyes.
4. Less prone to using too much
Our issue with using creams is if we have gorilla hands, we end up squeezing too much. Or, if our kids get a hold of the bottle, they’ll squeeze out so much that they’ve marinated themselves into a coconut milk-based dish. Powder sunscreen doesn’t have that issue and if you’re going to put it on kids, it’ll be easier to spread. Plus, since it’s powder, kids won’t be tempted to lick it off their hand because the skin would have absorbed it by then.
5. Powder sunscreens are easy to bring around
We have a famous rule as a mom: we bring everything sans the kitchen sink! But in bringing everything, sometimes, we might end up squeezing the bottle of sunscreen which will spill all over the bag’s insides. Powder sunscreen, at least, can just be dusted off and you don’t have to throw your whole bag into the wash just to get it out. Plus, if you already have a small pouch for your makeup, it’ll be best to get powder sunscreen instead so it actually fits the pouch.
6. Perfect to use after a facial
We all want to spoil ourselves, especially during the pandemic so, we’re most likely going to want to get a facial. Instead of stocking our cabinets high with strange skincare products, we’ll probably head over to the Belo clinic instead where they got the Belo Mermaid Facial treatment. Keeps our skin clean and smooth and to make sure you don’t ruin the effects of it, using their powder sunscreen will also be best to keep the harmful effects of the sun away after the treatment. Ivana Alawi already tried it out and you can check out her experience here.
