Why We Love The New Pantone Color Of The Year 2025: Mocha Mousse
Warm neutrals are now the trending color of year 2025 and we’ll tell you why moms are so overjoyed!
Wearing bright colors isn’t for everyone, especially introverted moms or moms who prefer the “old money” colorway. Plus, bright colors in a home may be too overstimulating. But with Mocha Mousse as Pantone’s Color of the Year 2025, we’re looking forward to creating a more flexible colorway for our homes and wardrobes. Clothes, shoes, and even nurseries — finally, a timeless color is making a comeback!
Encouraging warmth, connection, and simplicity
The two preceding colors, Pantone and Viva Magenta, were a little bolder as if asking families to explore and embrace adventure. But Mocha Mousse (which kind of reminds us of our favorite black liquid) supposedly sends a different message, according to Pantone.
“We look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others,” shares Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute Laurie Pressman.
Unlike the last two colors, Pantone and Viva Magenta, Mocha Mousse looks more muted which is something most of us like. Considering some of us wanted a more Bali-inspired or tropical look to our homes, the declaration of Mocha Mousse as the color of the year may finally make those neutral-colored pillows, throw blankets, furniture covers, and nursery essentials readily available!
Mocha Mousse: A warmer-looking home
Light brown hues have always been a preferred colorway for our homes. It’s a timeless color and makes the place feel and look breathable. As a bright but muted color, it absorbs less light which makes the place feel less stuffy and hot. So, if ever we’re planning to make a vacation home or a home that can withstand the Philippines’ volatile weather — Pantone’s color of the year 2025, Mocha Mousse, maybe the way to go!
