Jodi Sta Maria, Jericho Rosales and Jolina Magdangal In Lavender Fields Is A Teleserye Powerhouse!
The announcement of Dreamscape Entertainment’s latest teleserye Lavender Fields is already the buzz on social media!
If you have been checking social media for the past weeks, you’ve seen the buzz on the upcoming teleserye Lavender Fields under Dreamscape Entertainment. Jodi Sta Maria, Janine Gutierrez, Jericho Rosales, and Jolina Magdangal have been announced as part of the cast. On Thursday, June 20, four upcoming actors – Jana Agoncillo, Miguel Vergara, Marc Santiago, and Krystal Mejes have been announced as part of the casting.
Although we have yet to know more about the plot of the show except that it’s an action-drama series and when it will air, here’s why many are already looking forward to seeing the show soon.
1. Jodi’s follow-up soap after Unbreak My Heart
After being part of ABS-CBN and GMA’s first joint project Unbreak My Heart, Jodi returns this year as Lavender Fields. In an interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, Jodi, who co-parents her son Thirdy with ex-husband Pampi Lacson explained briefly about her involvement in the show.
“ May storya. May ibig sabihin ano ba ang lavender as a plant,” Jodi shared. ” Alam natin na yung oil na nakukuha natin sa kanya [ay] pang-relax. Pero ang isang meaning din ay distrust.”
Jodi added that the show is her first time doing an action teleserye and she has been training for it since she got the role. She also said that she’s looking forward to the cast she’ll be working with.
2. Jericho Rosales returns to the teleserye genre
Lavender Fields marks the return of Jericho to the telserye genre. His last teleserye was Halik in 2018.
During the interview, Jericho, dubbed as Asia’s Drama King, admitted having so many “feels” on his return for the cast revelation. “Just being here in ABS-CBN brings so many positive memories and feelings. Everyone’s just smiling and saying welcome back.”
The father of Santino also said he’s excited to work with Jodi since doing Pangako Sa’Yo. Jodi played his sister Lia on the show.
“She’s just one of the most passionate and dedicated artists out there and I just love her energy.”
He also expressed his excitement about working with Janine Gutierrez and promised a lot of emotions as he plays the role of Tyrone De Vera on the show.
3. Jolina Magdangal’s return in a teleserye
We see her as Momshie Jolina on Magandang Buhay but this time, Jolina embarks on a different role as Lily Atienza. The show marks Jolina’s return to the teleserye genre as well.
“Iba si Momshie Jolina, iba si Jolina dito,” she explained during the cast revelation interview. ” Parang hindi ito yung chuvachuchu,” she added jokingly, referring to the song she performed as a teen.
She turned serious when asked about the meeting with Dreamscape executives. ” Parang totoo ba ito? S’yempre ang tagal kong nasa talk show and ang tagal kong hindi nag soap.“
The singer and TV host said she was genuinely surprised when the show was pitched to her but there was a lot of excitement and nervousness. More than anything, Jolina, who has been in the industry for three decades, said she still wants to do more roles and challenge herself.
4. So many first and reunions among the cast
Jolina shared she’s excited to work with Jodi, whom she worked with when they were young in some shows.
“Hindi ko pa siya naka-work [masyado] sa actingan. Sobra ko siyang pinapanood and sobra akong nagagalingan sa kanya,” the mother of two said.
This also brings her to work with Jericho with whom she has not worked in a teleserye but has worked with in shows for The Filipino Channel.
The teleserye is also the first time as well that Jolina will be working with Janine Gutierrez.
5. Janine Gutierrez is playing a villain on the show
Janine Gutierrez returns to primetime as Iris Buenavidez and this time she’s playing a villain, a first for the Dirty Linen actress.
“This is something I’ve never done before,” says Janine. ” Kung yung Dirty Linen palaban, siguro dito more pa.”
‘Every villain is the hero of their own story. [It’s] something that I find exciting about the projects we have here in Dreamscape and ABS-CBN studios is it’s not just one good person – like walang hero, walang villain na black and white.”
There is no doubt that Janine is an actress to watch out for today. She hails from the showbiz line of the Gutierrezes which includes her grandfather Eddie, father Ramon Christopher, aunt Ruffa Gutierrez, and uncles Richard, Raymond, and Tonton. She is also the granddaughter of Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales and National Artist Nora Aunor.
Exciting times ahead!
More cast members have yet to be announced for the show but one thing is for sure – families will be glued to their screens when Lavender Fields is shown. It’s something many are looking forward to following the airing of Pamilya Sagrado, Dirty Linen, and Marry Me, Marry You.
