Families Have Another Week to Watch Films From the Metro Manila Film Festival!

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the Metro Manila Film Festival will extend until January 14.

Good news for families and viewers who were unable to watch the films from the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)! The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that they are extending the festival until January 14.

MMDA Acting Chairman and MMFF Overall Concurrent Chairman Atty. Don Artes said that the decision was made in response to the clamor to extend the festival. The MMFF was originally scheduled to end on January 7.

“We at the MMFF would like to express our deepest gratitude to all who have supported us and watched the movie entries, particularly those who requested for the MMFF movies to extend beyond its original run,” Artes said in a statement.

Marami pong salamat sa inyong patuloy na pagtangkilik. Moviegoers, may mga karagdagang araw pa para panoorin lahat ng MMFF entries.”

Biggest Earnings to Date

The MMFF committee shared that this year’s festival has grossed PHP 1 billion—surpassing its earnings from 2022. What’s more, the ten films will be making their debut at the first Manila International Film Festival—happening in Los Angeles from January 29 to February 2, 2024.

Although the MMFF has not released an official ranking of its films, the Dingdong Dantes-Marian Rivera film Rewind, Piolo Pascual’s film Mallari, GomBurZa, which stars Cedrick Juan and Enchong Dee, and Firefly—led by Alessandra de Rossi—have been doing well in cinemas.
